Departmental Mission

To provide administrative, corporate affairs and human resources management services.
The Chamber Secretary is responsible for various sections within Council as stated:-
Overall Functions for Department:

  1. Provision of secretarial and administrative services.
  2. Enforcing compliance of by-laws
  3. Promoting corporate governance.
  4. Processing licences.
  5. Managing and developing Human Resources.
  6. Managing Public Relations.
  7. Administering Council Asset Register.
  8. Provision of security.
  9. Mainstreaming gender.


Who  We Are:

Mutare City Council is a Local Government Authority which draws its mandate from the Urban Councils Act [Chapter 29:15]. Our mandate is elaborated in our mission statement.
